Welcome!

Here at Lunar Love Perinatal Support, I am dedicated to helping you build the best emotional, physical, and mental support for your pregnancy and postpartum journey. Support begins with the knowledge to advocate for yourself, and is carried by the team you assemble. I’d be honored to be part of that team.

Support That Teaches You How to Trust Yourself

Lunar Love was built on the belief that families deserve more than someone who simply steps in and takes over. My role is to help you understand your options, recognize what your baby is communicating, and build the skills and confidence to make decisions that feel right for your family. From pregnancy through the early years, support is designed to leave you feeling more informed, more capable, and more connected to your own instincts.

Education First

Good support starts with understanding. I take the time to explain the "why" behind birth, newborn behavior, postpartum recovery, and infant sleep so you can make informed decisions rather than simply being told what to do.

Evidence-Informed Care

Recommendations are grounded in current research, developmental knowledge, professional training, and real-world experience with families. Evidence helps guide our work, while your values, preferences, and individual circumstances determine what support actually looks like.

Confidence That Lasts

The goal is never to make you dependent on professional support. Whether I am beside you during labor, caring for your newborn overnight, or helping your family navigate sleep, I want you to leave our time together feeling more confident in your ability to understand your child and care for your family.

Service FAQs

As soon as possible! The earlier you hire, the more time you have to get to know me, and I get to know you. If you are unsure how much postpartum support you will need, it is always better to book and ask for more support than wait and potentially not have it when you need it.

When should I hire a birth or postpartum doula?

1

Absolutely! I am happy to support whatever birth my client chooses! It is up to you to decide what is best for your body, and for me to hold space. Whether in a hospital or birth center, mediated or unmedicated, cesarean or unassisted delivery, I will be there.

Do you support epidurals, inductions, planned cesareans, and unmedicated births?

2

Absolutely! You are also welcome to bring your doula with you as a support person if you hire one!

Can I book childbirth, newborn care, or sleep education without doula support?

3

What areas do you serve for in-person birth and postpartum support?

4

Currently, I only serve Huntsville, Alabama, for in-person birth and postpartum support. Sleep support and all education can be done virtually for my Nashville clients. I have an abundance of in-person doulas I recommend to parents in Nashville who need hands-on support.

Client Reviews

“Dez helped us during the most difficult transition period of our lives. As first-time parents we knew how rough the first couple of days home would be, but an emergency c-section and subsequent infection added on an extra layer of chaos. Dez gave valuable guidance on navigating through it all, and I especially cherished her gentle direction and encouragement. Women told me about the anxiety, mom guilt, and overwhelming spectrum of emotions, but I didn’t fully understand until I was in the thick of it. Looking back, I only wish we had called her sooner! Having her advice was, and continues to be, a blessing, as I know her knowledge is evidence-based and up to date.

Postpartum Client

“We had a good experience using Dez as our doula during a lengthy, difficult birth. She was very helpful keeping the energy calm and upbeat even when I felt scared and exhausted. She was also there to check in and emotionally processing things the day after the birth. It felt like she was very present and saw us through the whole experience.”

Birth Client

“Dez was incredibly thorough during our childbirth education and newborn care classes. She led with facts that helped me sort through all of the information I was seeing on social media, and held space for questions. By the end, my wife and I felt prepared to conquer the postpartum period on our own, and help our parents understand how to help us.”
